RICHIO SUZUKI

With over four decades on the scene, Richio is a true stalwart of UK club culture. His journey began in the vibrant Northern Soul movement of the North, before becoming a fixture at landmark events like the Southport Weekender in the early ’90s. As the scene evolved, so did Richio — bringing his eclectic, genre-defying sets to London’s underground, spinning in back rooms of legendary venues like Ministry of Sound, as well as high-end West End bars and boutique hotels.

His festival credentials are equally impressive, with standout sets at Lovebox, Standon Calling, and Latitude, while his international reach has taken him to dancefloors across Japan, Italy, France, Belgium, Denmark, Bahrain, and Thailand.

A trusted name on the UK soul and rare groove circuit, Richio has graced events such as Shiftless Shuffle, Saturday Soul Affair, and most recently, Let’s Get Together Festival in St Leonard’s and Hastings.

Not just a DJ, but a curator — Richio has hosted his own successful events, most notably the acclaimed Hawaiian Bop. This iconic party brought together top-tier selectors including Eddie Piller, Bob Jones, Dean Thatcher, Rocky, and many more from the Modcast family.

A longtime collaborator with Eddie Piller, Richio is a core member of the Modcast crew, regularly appearing at Modcast Weekenders, the Modcast Boat Party, and all Modcast Mallorca events. Known for reading the room and playing to the crowd, not at it — Richio’s sets are always about connection, energy, and soul.
